 | Our Story We met on eharmony in June 2010. True to eharmony's word, we had so many interests in common including our passion for outdoor activities, our faith in God, and our love for our friends and families. Not only did we have a lot in common, but we really enjoyed spending our time together. Chad started playing more tennis, and I learned how to play disc golf. In the midst of all our activities and time together, we fell in love. While we do have our differences (Chad is spontaneous, and I like things planned), we realized that we want to "do life" together because we are better together. -Jennifer The Proposal I wanted to surprise Jennifer, but that was tough to do. We had looked at rings several months prior because Jennifer likes to plan ahead, and because I wanted to get her a ring she would love. I decided to ask her the day after Thanksgiving and suggested that we go hiking at Red Top Mountain which was the site of our first hike together only 2 days after we met. I put the ring in my pocket without her seeing it, and we hiked the 5 mile hike. I was very conscious of the ring in my pocket and tried hard to keep it hidden. After the hike, I wanted to take pictures near the lake. We found a spot on a large rock overlooking the lake. Jennifer stood out on the rock with Lanier while I set up the camera. I set the camera on timer, but Jennifer insisted that it was not going to take since the light was not blinking (she is highly detail-oriented). After a few tries, she relented, and I walked over to her, got down on one knee, and proposed. Needless to say, she was surprised, and we were both overwhlemed with joy. We cannot wait to be married and spend our lives together. -Chad |
